Kansas City, KS - Injuries in Rear-end Crash on I-70

Kansas City, KS (November 7, 2024) – There were confirmed injuries after a two-vehicle collision in the Kansas City area on Wednesday, November 6. The accident took place on Interstate 70 near mile marker 226 in Wyandotte County early that morning around 8:44 a.m. Local reports revealed that 28-year-old Sean Medford of Topeka was traveling eastbound in a 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe behind an eastbound 2016 Mercedes E-350 driven by 45-year-old Manreet Singh of Shawnee. 

Local reports from the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) indicated that Meford was traveling to close to the Mercedes and struck the rear of the vehicle. This caused the Mercedes to hit a nearby barrier wall. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Medford was transported by ambulance to the Kansas University Medical Center for the treatment of sustained injuries. Singh was provided aid at the scene by attending medical personnel. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is in progress.
