Kansas City, KS (April 8, 2024) – Two people were injured after a car accident in the Kansas City area on Sunday, April 7. The crash was reported that afternoon around 4:35 p.m. on Interstate 635 NB near mile marker two. Local reports revealed that two vehicles collided at the scene.
A 2014 Infiniti Q50 driven by 19-year-old Avery Arens of Kansas City, KS, and another vehicle were traveling northbound in the number three lane. Local reports revealed that vehicle two slowed down for unknown reasons, causing it to be hit from behind by the Infiniti. The second vehicle proceeded to flee the scene.
Arens complained of injuries and was treated at the scene by attending medical personnel. An unidentified passenger in the vehicle was transported to the Kansas University Medical Center for treatment of sustained injuries. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
