Kansas City, KS (June 21, 2024) – Two drivers were hurt after a vehicle collision in the Kansas City area on Thursday, June 20. The incident was reported on Interstate 70 EB near the 18th Street Expressway that afternoon around 4:52 p.m. Local reports revealed that a 2007 Chevrolet PC and a 2017 Hyundai 4D were traveling southbound on the interstate at the time of the crash. 

The driver of the Hyundai, 25-year-old Rachel Marroquin-Pardo of Merriam, stopped due to traffic on the highway when it was hit from behind by the Chevy. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Both Marroquin-Pardo and the other driver, later identified as 41-year-old Raychel Custer of Kansas City, were injured in the collision and treated at the scene by attending medical personnel. No further information on the incident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
