Kechi, KS (April 30, 2024) – There were confirmed injuries after a two-vehicle collision in the Kechi area on Monday, April 29. The accident was reported at the intersection of K-254 EB and Rock Road late that afternoon around 5:21 p.m. Local reports revealed that a 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan and a 2015 Toyota Prius collided at the scene.
Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to provide the necessary aid to the involved parties. It was later reported that 20-year-old Layla Mason of Bel Aire was traveling north in the Volkswagen when she entered the intersection and was hit by the Toyota, driven by 22-year-old Landon Moore of Benton. Mason was treated at the scene before being transferred to Wesley Woodlawn Hospital by ambulance. Moore was taken to St. Francis Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
