Kechi, KS (March 6, 2024) – Two drivers were hurt after a car accident in the Kechi area on Friday, April 5. The collision took place early that morning around 7:45 a.m. at the intersection of KS-254 and Rock Road. Local reports revealed that a 2017 Buick LaCrosse driven by 85-year-old Beverly K. Dunning of Wihcita was traveling northbound on Rock Road.
At the same time, a 2016 Mercedez E Class driven by 35-year-old Mengwen Yu also from Wichita was traveling east on the highway. It was later revealed that Dunning failed to yield to the Mercedez and was hit by the oncoming vehicle after entering the intersection. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to render the necessary aid. Dunning was hurt and treated at the scene by attending medical personnel. Yu was transferred to Wesley Medical Center by ambulance for treatment of sustained injuries. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
