Lacygne, KS - Driver Hurt in Semi Crash at US-69 & K-152

Lacygne, KS (August 7, 2024) – A driver was hurt after a two-vehicle crash in the Lacygne area on Tuesday, August 6. The collision took place on US-69 near K-152 that afternoon around 12:15 p.m. Local reports revealed that 59-year-old Jeffrey Daniel Thoele of Lacygne was traveling south in a New Holland tractor in the right lane. 

It was then that a 2020 Freightliner driven by 52-year-old Christopher Scott Drake of Sikeston, MO approached the tractor from behind. The truck hit the back of the tractor, causing it to overturn. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene. Thoele was injured and transported to Overland Park Regional Hospital for treatment. No updates on the accident are currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in progress.
