Larned, KS (October 20, 2024) – Two drivers were hurt after an auto accident outside of Larned on Saturday, October 19. The crash took place on US-56 EB near 90th Avenue that night around 9:29 p.m. Local reports revealed that 71-year-old Milton Herman Jr. of Great Bend was headed southbound on 90th Avenue in a 2020 Ford Ranger pickup truck making a left turn onto the highway.
At the same time, 22-year-old Marcos Piedra of Great Bend was traveling west on the highway in a 2006 Ford F-150 pickup truck. Piedra attempted to make an avoidance maneuver but ultimately struck the Ranger. Emergency crews were dispatched to provide aid to the involved parties. Both drivers were transported to Pawnee Valley Hospital by ambulance for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further information on the collision is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
