Leavenworth, KS (May 7, 2024) – On Monday, May 6, a driver was injured after a two-vehicle crash in the Leavenworth area. The accident was reported on Interstate 70 EB near mile marker 210 that afternoon around 3:25 p.m. Local reports revealed that two vehicles were traveling eastbound on the interstate at the time of the crash.
It was later reported that 49-year-old Brent Blackman of Topeka was driving a 2017 Kia Forte while 37-year-old Henry Arce of Grand Prairie, TX was operating a 2023 Dodge Ram Promaster van. Blackman collided with the rear of the van before traveling around the vehicle. Another vehicle got in front of the Kia to prevent Blackman from fleeing the scene. Blackman reversed the Forte before leaving the roadway to the right. Arce was injured and treated at the scene by attending medical personnel. No further information on the accident is currently available. Local law enforcement officials are handling the ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident.
