Lenexa, KS (May 22, 2024) – On Tuesday, May 21, a driver was injured after a rollover accident in the Lenexa area. The accident took place on Interstate 35 SB in Johnson County near College Boulevard late that evening around 6:59 p.m. Local reports revealed that the crash occurred when a driver rear-ended a slow-moving vehicle in the right lane.
It was later reported that 39-year-old Jamie Ortega of Liberty, MO, was traveling southbound in the right lane in a 2011 Freightliner tractor-trailer. It was then that a 2010 Honda Civic driven by 34-year-old Ashley N. Trout of Baldwin City crashed into the rear of the rig. The impact caused the Civic to overturn. A nearby 2014 Subaru Forrester driven by 29-year-old Mark E. Cox of Overland Park was hit by the resulting debris. Trout was transported to Overland Park Regional Hospital by ambulance for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further information on the incident is currently available.
