Lenexa, KS (August 21, 2024) – A multi-vehicle collision in the Lenexa area on Tuesday, August 20, resulted in injuries. The crash took place on Interstate 35 NB near 87th Street early that morning around 8 a.m. Local reports revealed that a 2017 Dodge Charger, a 2016 Honda Odyssey minivan, and a 2011 Toyota Rav4 were traveling northbound at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Dodge, 20-year-old Logan P. Braun of Lees Summit, MS, was following the Honda, driven by 45-year-old Catherine J. Rico of Kansas City. Braun crashed into the rear of the minivan, causing the Odyssey to hit the back of the Toyota, driven by 57-year-old Maria Eszter of Overland Park. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Rico was injured and transported by ambulance to Advent Hospital for treatment. No further information on the collision is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress.
