Manhattan, KS (March 23, 2024) – A vehicle collision in the Manhattan area on Friday, March 22, resulted in two confirmed injuries. The accident took place in Riley County at around 4:30 p.m. at the crossing of Marlatt Avenue and KS-113. Local reports from the Kansas Highway Patrol indicated that 22-year-old Spencer M. Berry of Manhattan was heading westbound in a 1996 GMC SC1 leading up to the crash.
Berry reportedly failed to yield the right of way and collided with a 2003 Ford Econoline driven by 63-year-old Mark R. Pixley, also from Manhattan. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched in order to render the necessary aid. Both Pixley and Berry were transported by ambulance to Via Christi in Manhattan. Berry was later transferred to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. No additional information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
