Rear-end Collisions in Kansas
It is hard to know when you’re going to be hit from behind unless your eyes are glued to the rearview mirror. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that rear-end impacts are the most common type of accident in the United States. Many drivers aren’t paying attention to the road, so they can’t stop in time to avoid hitting the car in front of them. This shouldn’t be a surprise. About 1.7 million rear-end collisions happen on American roads every year. Drivers are distracted about 90 percent of the time when they hit another car from behind. More than 1,700 people die every year in rear-end collisions, and almost 85 percent of neck injuries happen when a driver hits the back of another car.
