Minneapolis, KS (March 2, 2024) – There were confirmed injuries after a car accident in the Minneapolis area on Friday morning, March 1. The collision took place at the corner of US-81 and Limestone Road at around 11:06 a.m. Three people were reportedly hurt in the crash.
Local reports revealed that a 2017 Nissan Sentra driven by 67-year-old Joyce M. Bacon of Minneapolis was traveling eastbound when they failed to yield at a stop sign. Bacon collided with an oncoming 2008 Ford Fusion driven by 69-year-old Rhonda R. Bunch of Concordia. Emergency responders were quickly dispatched in order to render the necessary aid to the involved parties.
Joyce, their passenger, 74-year-old Marjorie Garst also of Minneapolis, and Bunch were all transported to Salina Regional Health Center for treatment of sustained injuries. The area was temporarily closed while authorities worked to clear the scene. No further information on the accident has been provided at this time. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being handled by local law enforcement officials.
