Mullinville, KS (August 24, 2024) – In the Mullinville area of Kiowa County, a major pedestrian accident occurred shortly after noon on Wednesday, resulting in the death of a northwest Kansas man. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2016 International semi-truck, operated by 67-year-old Charles D. Cunningham from Pleasant Hope, was traveling west on U.S. Highway 54 at the intersection with 10th Avenue in Mullinville. During this incident, a pedestrian named Richard Hubbard, aged 50 from Phillipsburg, was crossing U.S. Highway 54 while walking north on 10th Avenue when he was struck by the semi.
