Newton, KS (November 25, 2024) – A two-vehicle collision at U.S. 50 and North East Lake Road on Friday morning resulted in serious injuries. The crash occurred at approximately 11:49 a.m. and involved a Ford Expedition and a Ram 1500.
According to authorities, the crash happened when a 2011 Ford Expedition, driven by Madison Jo Vinduska of Marion, Kansas, attempted to turn left from eastbound U.S. 50 onto North East Lake Road. The driver failed to yield to a westbound 2015 Ram 1500 driven by Kanitra Reatha Crump of Wichita, Kansas, resulting in a collision. The impact pushed the Ford onto the north shoulder, while the Ram spun and came to rest in the westbound lanes of U.S. 50.
Madison Vinduska sustained suspected serious injuries and was transported to Wesley Medical Center for treatment. A passenger in the Ford, 3-year-old Miller Vinduska, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Newton Medical Center. The driver of the Ram, Kanitra Crump, also sustained suspected serious injuries and was transported to Newton Medical Center.
Emergency crews worked to clear the scene and restore traffic flow. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
