Oakley, KS (March 23, 2024) – There were two confirmed injuries after a single-vehicle collision in the Oakley area on Friday, March 22. The crash occurred early that morning at around 8:58 a.m. on Interstate 70 WB. A 2011 Cadillac Escalade driven by 59-year-old Catalina Ortega Archuleta of Aurora, CO, was hauling a trailer with a 2002 Honda Odyssey leading up to the accident.
The driver was headed eastbound when she fell asleep and lost control of the vehicle. The Escalade entered the median before spinning counterclockwise and overturned before coming to a stop upright in a ditch. Both Archuletta and her passenger, 57-year-old Celestino Archuleta also from Aurora, were transported to Logan County Hospital for treatment of sustained injuries.
