Olpe, KS (June 25, 2024) – On Monday, June 24, two people were hurt after a rear-end collision in the Olpe area. The accident was reported on K-99 that afternoon around 1:33 p.m. Local reports revealed that 25-year-old Winter McHugh of Clinton, MO, was traveling southbound in a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck while 21-year-old Paige Knight of Hamilton was driving a 2017 Ford Escape also headed south.
It was later revealed that Knight crashed into the back of the Chevy. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Both drivers were hurt in the collision. McHugh was treated at the scene by attending medical personnel, and Knight was transported by ambulance to Newman Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
