Accidents Caused by Vehicle Malfunctions in Kansas

While mechanical failures, such as tire blowouts, are not a leading cause of accidents on U.S. roadways, they can still contribute to a significant number of collisions each year. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), mechanical defects contribute to approximately 2% of all motor vehicle crashes annually. When a vehicle suddenly becomes inoperable in high-traffic areas, it poses a significant risk to the driver and other motorists. Proper vehicle maintenance is essential to prevent such incidents, but even well-maintained vehicles can experience sudden malfunctions that lead to devastating consequences.

If you or a loved one is involved in an accident caused by a mechanical failure, understanding your rights is critical. Liability may rest with the vehicle owner, a manufacturer, or even a repair shop, depending on the circumstances of the malfunction.
