Overland Park, KS (April 3, 2024) – A woman was hurt following a multi-vehicle accident in the Overland Park area on Tuesday, April 2. The accident was reported on Interstate 35 NB near Interstate 635 at around 5:19 p.m. Local reports indicated that four vehicles were involved in the crash.
It was later revealed that a 2017 Nissan Altima, a 2017 Fiat 500, a 2014 Ford Fusion, and a 2019 Ford Explorer were traveling northbound on the interstate. The Fiat and two Fords were braking, and the driver of the Nissan, 19-year-old Diannel Abdiel Guia Rodriguez of Kansas, crashed into the rear of the Fiat. The impact caused the Fiat to hit the Fusion, which in turn hit the Explorer ahead of it. The driver of the Fiat, 41-year-old Amber Dawn Alcorn of Independence, MO, was transported to Centerpoint Medical Center for treatment of sustained injuries. No other injuries were reported in the crash. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for a full recovery.
