Rovohl, KS (October 5, 2024) – A passenger was killed and others hurt after a single-vehicle crash in the Rovohl area on Friday, October 4. The deadly accident took place that evening around 9:44 p.m. at the intersection of Thomas County Road CC and County Road 21. It was reported that 18-year-old Kade Homm of Flagger, CO was driving a 2007 Ford F-250 pickup truck traveling south on CR 21.
For unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway near a private driveway and hit a row of trees. The truck came to a stop facing south. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. One of the occupants, 19-year-old Emma C. Brungardt of Blue Rapids, suffered fatal injuries in the impact. Homm and four other passengers, 20-year-old Alaura Crockett-Armijo of Larned, 19-year-old Kerstin S. Tommer of Newton, 18-year-old Lakeddah J. Downes of Council Grove, and 19-year-old Emma G. Krase of Galva, were transported by ambulance to Citizens Medical Center for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further updates on the deadly accident are currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress.
