Topeka, KS (June 28, 2024) – A cyclist was hurt following a hit-and-run accident in the Topeka area on Thursday, June 27. The collision was first reported early that morning around 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of SW Huntoon Street and SW Fairlawn Road. Local reports indicated that the victim was riding a bike when they were hit by an oncoming motor vehicle.
The at-fault driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the injured party. Emergency crews were later dispatched to the scene where they found the rider lying on the road with life-threatening injuries. The injured party was treated at the scene before being transported to a local hospital in critical condition. It is unknown if officials were able to locate the suspect motorist at this time.
