Topeka, KS (November 21, 2024) – The Topeka Police Department has identified the pedestrian who tragically lost his life in a vehicle collision on Wednesday evening near the 1900 block of SE Adams. The victim has been identified as Emmett Leatherwood, 72, of Topeka. The incident was reported around 6:01 p.m., and emergency responders, including AMR, transported Mr. Leatherwood to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision. Motorists were initially advised to avoid the area as officers conducted their investigation.
