Topeka, KS (August 5, 2024) – A multi-vehicle collision involving a tractor resulted in confirmed injuries in the Topeka area on Sunday, August 4. The accident was reported on US-24 that afternoon around 3:30 p.m. Local reports revealed that a tractor was headed westbound on the highway when it turned into a private driveway. A 2003 Chevrolet cargo van was driving behind the tractor.
At the same time, a 1994 Dodge pickup truck was traveling too close behind the cargo van. The pickup hit the back of the vehicle. The impact sent the van into the back of the tractor. A 2008 Toyota Camry then struck the rear of the pickup truck. The driver of the cargo van, 49-year-old Joseph Michael Hill of Mclouth, was injured in the collision and transported by ambulance to Stormont-Vail Hospital. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
