Topeka, KS (March 7, 2024) – One person was hospitalized after a rear-end collision in the Topeka area on Wednesday afternoon, March 6. The accident was reported on Interstate 470 near Topeka Boulevard at around 4:02 p.m. Local sources indicated that a 2018 Ford F-350 pickup truck was headed westbound as it rounded a curve near the Kansas Turnpike Authority toll gate.
The driver failed to see a 2022 Ford F-350 pickup truck that was parked in the right merge lane blocking traffic. The first truck crashed into the rear of the second pickup. The driver of the first truck, later identified as 48-year-old Danny L. Wade of Liberty, MO, was transported to Stormont Vail Hospital for treatment.
No other injuries were reported in the collision. No further information has been provided at this time. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
