Topeka, KS (February 27, 2024) – Early on Sunday morning, February 27, a head-on crash in the Topeka area resulted in a fatality. The fatal accident took place on NE River Road north of the Sardou Bridge early that morning at around 9:30 a.m. Local reports indicated that two vehicles collided head-on at the scene.
Both drivers were transported to a local hospital for treatment. One of the drivers was critically injured and later pronounced dead. The deceased party was later identified as 76-year-old David Neely of Lawrence. No updates on the condition of the other victim have been provided.
