Township 11, KS (September 16, 2024) – On Sunday, September 15, a passenger was injured after a two-vehicle crash outside of Township 11. The incident took place at the corner of 100th Avenue and 60th Street just past midnight at around 12:05 a.m. Local reports revealed that 66-year-old Lyle Eugene Rhoads of Wichita was driving a 2018 Toyota Tacoma stopped at a stop sign at the time of the crash.
It was then that a 2006 Ford Super Duty pickup truck driven by 24-year-old Colton Tuff Johnson of Afton failed to stop and hit the back of the Toyota. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. A passenger of the Tacoma, 70-year-old Debra K. Rhoads of Norwich, was hurt in the crash. She was transported by ambulance to St Teresa- Via Christi Wichita for the treatment of sustained injuries. No other injuries were reported in the collision. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
