Union, KS (March 17, 2024) – On Saturday, March 16, there were confirmed injuries after a fiery collision in the Union area. The accident was reported at the corner of 119th Street and Albert Circle that afternoon at around 3:25 p.m. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to the scene after being notified of a single-vehicle rollover.
Local reports indicated that a Maize woman was heading southbound on 119th Street when she over-corrected, entered oncoming traffic, and crashed into a culvert. The vehicle caught fire, and officials were able to put it out after roughly four minutes. Two women traveling in the car were able to exit with the help of local bystanders. One of the victims was in critical condition and was transported to a hospital by ambulance, and the other was hospitalized by a private vehicle. No further information on the crash has been provided at this time. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local authorities.
