Wano, KS (September 13, 2024) – A driver was injured in a car crash in the Wano area on Thursday, September 12. The collision took place on K-27 near County Road 7 at around 5:15 p.m. Local reports revealed that a 2024 Peterbilt semi-truck and a 2017 Subaru Outback were headed northbound on the highway leading up to the crash.
The operator of the semi, 27-year-old William H. Troyer of Wilburton, OK, began to pass the Subaru when the driver of the passenger car, 36-year-old Sara Mullins of St. Francis, began to make a left turn onto County Road 7. The semi crashed into the Outback. Both vehicles came to a rest on the eastbound shoulder. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Mullins was transported by ambulance to Cheyenne County Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is in progress.
