Wichita, KS (May 26, 2024) – On Saturday, May 25, a driver was injured after a rear-end collision in the Wichita area. The accident was reported on Interstate 135 near W. Harry Street around 1:38 a.m. Local reports revealed that a 2011 Cadillac Escalade and a 2008 Saturn Outlook were headed northbound on the interstate at the time of the incident.
For unknown reasons, the Escalade crashed into the rear of the Saturn. After the impact, the Outlook left the road to the right, and the Cadillac veered left where it hit a concrete barrier wall. Emergency responders were quickly dispatched to the scene to provide the necessary aid. The driver of the Saturn, 19-year-old Natalia Lopez of Wichita, was transported to Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. The area was temporarily closed while emergency crews were present. No further information on the accident is currently available. Local law enforcement officials are handling the ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash.
