Wichita, KS (September 22, 2024) – A three-vehicle collision outside of Wichita on Friday, September 20, resulted in injuries. The incident took place on Interstate 234 NB near K-42 early that morning around 11:47 a.m. Local reports revealed that 73-year-old Teresa M. Guerrero of Garden City was driving a 2008 Honda Accord when she slowed for traffic.
It was then that the Honda was hit from behind by a 2012 Ford Fusion driven by 34-year-old Israel Arreguin of Wichita. This caused a chain-reaction collision where a 2011 Dodge Dakota driven by 47-year-old Ryan D. Schroeder of Wichita hit the Honda. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Guerrero was injured in the crash and transported by ambulance to St. Francis Hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is in progress, and more information will be provided as it continues.
Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for a full recovery.
