Wichita, KS (September 26, 2024) – On Wednesday, September 25, a driver was hurt after a two-vehicle collision in the Wichita area. The accident took place on Interstate 135 near K-96 that afternoon around 4:14 p.m. Local reports revealed that a 2016 Honda CRV and a 2013 Freightliner semi-truck were traveling northbound on the interstate at the time of the crash. 

The operator of the truck, 42-year-old Pedro Rodriguez De La Rosa of Wichita, was following the Honda too closely and hit the back of the vehicle. Emergency responders were quickly dispatched to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. The driver of the CRV, 62-year-old Rose Nguyen Huynh of Bridge City, TX, was injured in the crash. Huynh was transported by ambulance to the Wesley Medical Center for the treatment of sustained injuries. The area was temporarily closed while local authorities worked to clear the scene. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
