Wichita, KS (August 29, 2024) – There were reported injuries after a car accident in the Wichita area on Wednesday, August 28. The incident took place on Interstate 235 NB near mile marker 4.9 late that night around 8:37 p.m. Local report indicated that 56-year-old Dain B. Mitchell of Wichita was traveling northbound in a 2007 Jeep Wrangler in the second lane as 59-year-old Duncan was headed south on a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
For unknown reasons, a tire attached to the back of the Wrangler came loose and crossed the median, hitting the motorcyclist. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Duncan was injured and transported by ambulance to St. Francis Hospital. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
