Wichita, KS (October 28, 2024) – There were reported injuries after a two-vehicle crash in Wichita on Sunday, October 27. The collision took place on Interstate 135 NB near 21st Street that night around 7:37 p.m. Local reports revealed that 29-year-old Mushukwabo Jumapili of Wichita was traveling northbound on the interstate in a 2011 Nissan Juke at the time of the crash. 

For unknown reasons, Jumapili collided with a 2015 Ford Explorer driven by 39-year-old Vanessa Sanchez Herrera of Wichita. After the impact, the Nissan continued traveling north, crossing three lanes of traffic and hitting a median barrier wall. Emergency responders were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. A passenger in the Nissan, 18-year-old Yusuf Fataki of Wichita, was injured and transported by ambulance to Wesley Chapel Medical Center for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further information on the accident is currently available. However, an ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
