Wichita, KS (November 21, 2024) – A pedestrian tragically lost her life following a traffic accident Thursday morning at the intersection of Central and West Street. Officers responded to the scene around 8 a.m., where 48-year-old Angela Carrillo of Wichita was found with severe head injuries after being struck by a tan Lincoln MKX.
Emergency responders transported Carrillo to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased. According to investigators, Carrillo was crossing West Street on foot, moving east to west along Central, when the collision occurred. The 74-year-old driver of the Lincoln remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
The Wichita Police Department’s Critical Accident Team is actively investigating the incident and continues to interview witnesses to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash.
