Wichita, KS (November 25, 2024) – An injury accident occurred Friday afternoon on the exit ramp from northbound I-235 to South Seneca Street. The crash was reported at approximately 3:50 p.m. and involved two vehicles. One occupant sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
According to authorities, the collision occurred when a 2016 Honda CR-V driven by Robert Carter of Wichita, Kansas, yielded for traffic while exiting onto South Seneca Street. A 2017 Kia Sorento, driven by Kathryn Newland of Wichita, failed to stop in time and rear-ended the Honda. Both vehicles were occupied by passengers at the time of the crash. Amber Carter, a passenger in the Honda, was transported to St. Francis Hospital with suspected minor injuries. All other individuals, including a 4-year-old child in the Kia, were reported to have no apparent injuries.
The crash briefly disrupted traffic as emergency responders assisted those involved. Law enforcement continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
