Wichita, KS (April 24, 2024) – Three people were injured after a car wreck in Wichita at the intersection of Interstate 135 SB near W. Harry Street at around 6:10 p.m. Local reports revealed that the three injured parties were traveling in a single vehicle on the interstate leading up to the incident.
It was later reported that a 2012 Cadillac SRX driven by 20-year-old Aureiyona S. Thomas of Wichita was southbound in lane three when the right, rear tire experienced a blowout. This caused Thomas to lose control of the vehicle, which exited the road to the right where it collided with a concrete pillar. Thomas and his two passengers were injured in the crash. The other victims were later identified as 43-year-old Jalana M. Barber of Wichita and 21-year-old Shyliese M. Moore, also from Wichita. All the injured parties were transported to Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital by ambulance for further support. No additional information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress.
Our thoughts are with Aureiyona S. Thomas, Jalana M. Barber, Shyliese M. Moore, and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
