Wilson, KS (June 18, 2024) – A passenger was injured following a rear-end collision in the Wilson area on Monday, June 17. The accident was reported on Interstate 70 EB near mile marker 211.8 that afternoon, around 4:56 p.m. Local reports revealed that 32-year-old Omar Ibarra-Barrientos of Forth Worth, TX was traveling eastbound in a 2008 Chevrolet Express Van when he slowed due to impaired visibility caused by a dust storm.
It is then that a 2021 Subaru Outback, driven by 54-year-old Timothy C. Hindman of Edwards, CO crashed into the rear of the Chevy. Emergency responders were rushed to the scene to provide the necessary aid. A passenger in the Express Van, 29-year-old Alberto Gonzalez of Wichita, was hurt and transported by ambulance to Ellsworth County Medical Center for treatment. No other injuries were reported in the collision.
