Wright, KS (June 14, 2024) – A man was seriously hurt after a crash in the Wright area on Thursday, June 13. The accident was reported on US-50 late that night around 6:40 p.m. Local reports revealed that a 66-year-old man from Clovis, NM was driving a 2022 Peterbilt eastbound on the highway when he stopped due to traffic.
It was then that a 59-year-old Spearville man driving a 2014 GMC Sierra crashed into the rear of the truck. After this, a 24-year-old Dodge City woman driving a 2016 Toyota Camry hit the GMC before hitting the Peterbilt. The driver of the Sierra was transported to a local hospital in serious condition. No other injuries were reported in the accident. The area was closed while emergency crews were present, and tow trucks were needed to remove the resulting wreckage and other debris. No further information on the incident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in progress.
